David Hunt is the senior independent director - and chairs the audit committee - of the quoted investment trust Finsbury Growth & Income Trust PLC.
David is a member of the audit committee of the Church of England Pensions Board (CEPB). The CEPB administers the clergy pensions scheme, acts as trustee and administrator of certain other church-related pension schemes, acts as trustee to two charitable funds and administers the Church’s various retirement housing schemes.
David qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972 and joined accountants Binder Hamlyn where he became a partner in 1980. He led audit practice for six years from 1988 to 1994 when Binder Hamlyn joined Arthur Andersen. David was a partner of Andersen until 2002 when he left to join Smith & Williamson. He was a partner there until his retirement from the profession in 2011.
